Nataniel Edelman — Bio
Nataniel Edelman (*1991) is a pianist, composer and improviser from Buenos Aires, Argentina, based in Bern, Switzerland.
Over the years he has developed a personal sound and approach to music making, shaped by a deep curiosity and a broad range of influences combined with a strong involvement in musical performance and interaction. This has led him to collaborations with many of the most outstanding musicians in the Jazz and Creative Music scene.
A very active member in the Argentine and European scene, he has performed in several festivals and venues in Argentina, USA and Europe. He has recorded several albums as a leader and participated in many groups as a sideman, as well as collaborative projects.
One of these projects is his trio with two major voices in jazz and improvised music: double bassist Michael Formanek and alto saxophonist Michaël Attias. Together they recorded Un Ruido de Agua for Clean Feed Records in 2023 and En Vivo en Lisboa for Robalo Music in 2024, with a new album scheduled for release in 2027.
Other important collaborations are his duo with virtuoso trumpet player Valentín Garvie, together they released their first album in 2026 Tarde Mañana on Discos ICM, as well as his trio with drummer Sergio Verdinelli and double bassist Santiago Lamisovski with whom he released the album Perecedero on Blue Art Records in 2024. He is part of the collaborative improvisation trio AND with JACK Quartet violinist Austin Wulliman and Daniel Bruno on trombone and electronics. He has also released Suena el Sueño and El Camino Secreto with saxophonist Luis Nacht among several other projects as sideman.
